what I eat in a day: November 2019

I thought it might be fun to do a post on what I eat in a day. I get asked often what I eat, if I snack much, etc. First off. I don't count calories, I don't count macros. I just eat when I'm hungry and I try to eat Whole Foods and higher quality meats. I usually eyeball my food and eat until I am satisfied. This works for me and I feel like my relationship with food is in a good place.

I do enjoy fasting at times and will dabble in the occasional whole30. The health benefits are insane when fasting which is why I drink black coffee at times in the morning so that my first meal isn't until later in the day. 

6:30 am

8:00am breakfast

3 eggs, 1/4 cup sweet potatoes, a quarter of an avocado
 with everything but the bagel sprinkled on it

*easy meal prep hack: I bake a ton of sweet pots on Sunday and then have them ready to go in the fridge. While this may look like a lot of work to make this breakfast I assure you it wasn't. I only had to cook the eggs! The sweet pots are cold and they thaw out quickly and warm up with the hot egg when you're eating it. Try it out! 



12:30 lunch

3 hard boiled eggs and a big bowl of salad 
with a tiny bit of primal kitchen Caesar 
dressing because we ran out. 
1 cup of kombucha


1:30 hot beverage break

2 cups of chai tea with 1 cup warmed frothy
 oat milk and 1 tbsp of honey


6:30 dinner

4 hard shell chicken tacos because I took this picture before 
eating this and they were so delicious so I had to have another!

I realize I don't snack much and it's because I honestly forget with 3 kids to take care of. Some days I do and some days I don't much. When I don't snack then I make sure I am filling up on plenty of Whole Foods throughout the day.
