coco oat energy balls

Homemade is always better than prepackaged.

My girls LOVE these.

I'm the mom who jumps for joy when my kids love the food I make or prep for them. It's tough feeding these little humans. The first time I made these it was a total flop though. I made them like my husband and I were going to eat them (HUGE).

I tried again... but rolled them into nice little bite sizes for them and they are a hit!

Here's the trick to sending these off to school just right. Freeze the entire batch in a glass container and then toss them in a stasher bag in the morning! They will stay cool until they get to eat them.

If you don't want to use stasher bags because they're a little more expensive and kids always lose things then THESE are also great too (not silicone but still work).

I just love these so much because it's all real food, filling and easy. Just throw everything into a food processor and roll into bite size balls.

so simple mamas!

Make one big batch once a week and have zero worries for what to "grab" when on the go.

Coco Oat Energy Balls

1 cup oats
1/4 cup almond butter
1/4 cup coconut butter
2 tbsp maple syrup
2 tbsp hemp hearts
2 tbsp flax seeds
2 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/8 cup water
dark chocolate chips for topping

1. Combine everything except for the chocolate chips into a food processor. Pulse until mixture becomes sticky.
2. Roll into toddler bite size balls. About a dime or quarter size ball. Depending on the age of your little.
3. Push one dark chocolate chip into each ball.
