Spicy Roasted Almonds

I have to give credit where credit is due, my husbands request for random foods on a Sunday evening can lead to the most amazing recipes. ( Thanks babe. )

His request: roasted almonds. After a little back and forth of what I should sprinkle them with and one failed batch, I landed on this recipe and oooh myyy YUMMY goodness, they're delicious!

Spicy Roasted Almonds

Servings: 8
  • 2 cups of Almonds
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp of Wild Foods Flake Salt
  • 1/2 tbsp pink salt

  • Preheat oven to 300.
  • In a mixing bowl, add almonds and pour maple syrup over almonds then mix well. While you're mixing sprinkle cayenne and chili pepper over almonds. Mix, mix, mix so the almonds are coated well. On a baking sheet lay your almonds out evenly then sprinkle with pink salt.
  • Cook for 15 minutes.
  • Once you pull them out of the oven, immediately toss with flake salt.
  • Let cool completely before enjoying.
  • If you eat them fresh out of the oven you will notice a chewy texture that goes away once they've completely cooled. They are nice and crunchy once cooled and especially a few hours later or the next day.
