Whole30: challenge accepted

You guys. I survived surgery. I think it's safe to say that I secretly (not so secret anymore) freaked out for no reason. What a time to decide to start a blog though. I probably should have given myself 2 weeks to recover...so here we are, two weeks later. My stomach looks crazy good for just having surgery and the derma bandage thing the surgeon put over the incision has already come off and things are looking good. Still feeling a little sore at times, mostly at the end of my days and because I'm still breastfeeding having a babe lay on my tummy multiple times a day wasn't ideal after surgery but we got through it. Harper is so fascinated by my "ouchie" and wanted me to show her it multiple times a day and today tried to show it to one of her friends. She cracks me up.

So, my husband and I started the Whole30 two weeks ago. We have had no slips and the diet part is really not that hard. I was feeling great the first week and well into the second but today I felt some funny dizzy spell. I think this is my body detoxing because now I feel fine. Getting the cookbook is definitely helpful. We will have to see what I get out of the whole30 and later share that here. If I stumble upon some life changing things from doing this challenge I'll let ya know. I have never gone on a diet before so this is definitely something completely new to me. Several people have asked for this amazing {spicy} jalapeno recipe we came up with and have been using it on everything we have been eating lately. It's not really hot but it does have a kick. There's lime to tone it down though. We hope you love it as much as we do! Let me know if you make this bad boy in the comments or on my Instagram. It's a staple at our house now!

The lunch we poured our sauce over. So delicious and healthy!

Spicy Jalapeno Sauce

6 Jalapenos (stemmed, loosely seeded)
3 garlic cloves
1/4 cup avacado oil
5 tbsp of lime juice
1 tsp of pink himalayan salt

Directions: Throw all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Store in the refrigerator for 5 days (if it lasts that long).

Enjoy!
